Reporting to:  Managing Director

Base Salary:   £33,000 -  £40,000

Location: Hybrid (Fully Remote - UK ONLY)

Working Hours: 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday (Occasional overtime dependent on project)

Role Overview

As a Front End Web Developer, you will work closely with our Design Team, Digital Delivery Manager, and existing in-house and remote developers.

Your day-to-day role will involve developing and implementing user-friendly interfaces, creating responsive layouts, and optimising website performance, across various platforms, including WordPress, VueJS, OctoberCMS and Laravel.

You will work closely with the design and technical teams to ensure a seamless user experience, a cohesive visual style, and efficient code. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of user experience, current web development technologies, and coding languages. This could involve dealing directly with clients to provide a solution for their problems.

As an experienced Front End Web Developer, you will be creative and possess excellent problem-solving skills, with a strong passion for staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in web development, while collaborating on WordPress, VueJS, OctoberCMS and Laravel projects.

What you will need:

  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable experience in website and web application development.
  • You will know what it takes to design commercial and client-centric technical and creative solutions.
  • You should also have experience dealing directly with clients by email, in-person, project management tools, or phone.
  • We are looking for a specialist who is proficient in Front End technologies, with at least one Front End framework (ideally VueJS). You will also understand how to implement unit testing, integration testing and continuous integration.
  • While it is essential to have WordPress experience, if you already have exposure to OctoberCMS, CraftCMS, it would be a big plus.

What you will get involved in:

  • Develop and implement user-friendly web interfaces based on customer and internal team feedback.
  • Collaborate with the design team to create responsive layouts and optimised design elements.
  • Code efficient JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and other web technologies with a focus on user experience.
  • Write clean, organised, and well-documented code, maintain code repositories and versions, and document code changes.
  • Optimise website performance by monitoring site performance, addressing bottlenecks, and testing changes for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Stay current with web development trends, online user behaviour, and industry changes.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members and clients.
  • Ensure coherence and consistency across websites by collaborating with other members of the team.
  • Work with project managers and stakeholders to determine project scope and requirements.
  • Meet regularly with project managers and team members to provide updates on development progress.
  • Ensure websites are fully responsive and compatible across multiple platforms and devices.
